Introducing Louie: Founder of Navlytix

Louie Blanchard

Meet Louie — a 20-year-old Vietnamese-New Zealander with a deep passion for aviation, strategy, and the business of flight. Growing up between two cultures and two countries gave Louie a natural curiosity for how the world connects, and it didn't take long for that curiosity to find its home in the airline industry.

From a young age, Louie was drawn not just to the aircraft themselves, but to the decisions behind them — why airlines choose the routes they fly, how they decide which aircraft to operate, and what separates a profitable network from one that bleeds cash. While most people see a flight as a way to get from A to B, Louie sees a story of economics, strategy, and competitive positioning playing out at 35,000 feet.

Why Navlytix exists

Navlytix was born out of a frustration that Louie kept running into: the tools that airline strategists actually use — network planners, fleet optimisers, route economic simulators — are locked behind expensive enterprise software, buried inside airline planning departments, or simply don't exist in an accessible form.

If you wanted to understand whether a route made economic sense, you had to build a spreadsheet from scratch. If you wanted to visualise an airline's network and find the white space, you had to stitch together data from a dozen different sources. There was no single platform that brought these tools together in a clean, intuitive way.

So Louie built one.

What Navlytix is

Navlytix is an aviation analytics platform designed to make airline strategy thinking accessible — to aspiring aviation professionals, to enthusiasts who want to go deeper than flight tracking, and to anyone who has ever wondered why airlines make the decisions they do.

The platform brings together a suite of tools built around real industry inputs and real data. The Route Economics Simulator lets you model route profitability using actual cost and revenue drivers — CASK, yield, load factor, and fuel price — and see the P&L before a single seat is sold. The Fleet Strategy Analyser compares aircraft head-to-head on the metrics that actually matter for a given route. The Network Visualiser maps real airline routes on an interactive 3D globe, so you can see where carriers compete, where they don't, and where the opportunity might be. The Live Flight Map tracks airborne traffic in real time.

These aren't toys. They're the kind of analyses that happen inside airline strategy teams — made available here for anyone who wants to think seriously about the business of aviation.

What comes next

Navlytix is still early. There are more tools in development, more data to integrate, and a long list of features that Louie wants to build. The roadmap includes deeper financial benchmarking, historical route trend analysis, and eventually a full suite of tools covering everything from slot strategy to revenue management modelling.

The goal is simple: to be the platform that any aviation strategist — whether at a major airline or just starting out — would want to have open on their second screen.

If you're as passionate about aviation as Louie is, you're in the right place.
